Mold Maker (Mold Manufacturer)

New Tooling/Multi-Shot, Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Responsibilities:

   
  • Assembly and disassembly of all components required in mold manufacturing process
  • Set up and operate toolroom equipment, including manual and/or CNC
  • Subcontract to vendors providing the required information in coordination with mold manufacturing managers
  • Schedule work in order to meet due dates
  • Provide technical expertise to other mold manufacturers, designers, apprentices and engineers
  • Troubleshoot new mold problems during sampling
  • Trouble shoot and assemble manifold system
  • Maintain tools so they stay in correct working order
  • Do minor maintenance on machines in toolroom
  • May provide leadership for specific mold manufacturing projects in the toolroom; responsible for the completion of all aspects of the mold manufacturing process on schedule
  • Help keep tooling area clean and organized
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Report incidents and injuries to team leader/manager immediately.
  • Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them.
  • Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures.
  • Wear applicable personal protective equipment.
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

   
  • Two-year degree in machine tooling or similar discipline; or equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Completion of apprenticeship program; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience at a journeyman level
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of plastic injection molds
  • Demonstrable mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to successfully work on several projects simultaneously
