Responsibilities:

  • Manage the activities of engineers which includes functions such as: project engineering, cost estimating, and engineering support
  • Drive continual improvement on all programs in manufacturing
  • In partnership with the Program Manager, successfully transition programs from development to production, supporting the transition phase of projects from development (pre-PAR) to production approval
  • Responsible for satisfying customer expectations on product quality and timely delivery
  • Support overall manufacturing processes for technical expertise and resource as necessary in support of facility business
  • Keep work area clean
  • Report incidents and injuries to team leader/manager immediately
  • Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them
  • Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures
  • Wear applicable personal protective equipment
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures
  • Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action and customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum eight years applied engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of process control equipment
  • Broad knowledge of materials and processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering systems
  • Personal & interpersonal skills, including, but not limited to, caring about others, integrity and trust, listening, humor, ethics and values
  • Ability to partner effectively with peers
  • Strong and effective communication skills, including verbal, written, presentation and negotiation
  • Good judgment; showing strong business acumen, decision quality, intellectual horsepower, perspective, and problem solving
  • Courage indicated by strength of character, and ability to deal with trouble and make tough people calls

  • Proficient computer skills
  • Knowledge of injection molding, plastics/metal materials and associated processes
